The reason is simple. We are created to live in community. God himself is our example of community (Trinity) and without a good community we suffer. Community within the body of Christ is believers growing together to become more like Christ and to reach the lost with the Gospel. We cannot fulfill the mission given to us by Christ if we are in isolation. (Matthew 28:19-20) (Ephesians 2:19-22) There is a big difference between attending a church and participating in church. Those who simply attend church deprive both themselves and the rest of the body of true and godly community. Those who participate in church will benefit both themselves and the rest of the body. (Romans 12:4-5)
• For our members to grow in their relationships with Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25)
• To grow in community with the other members of the group (Galatians 6:2), (Psalm 133:1)
• To including non-believing friends in discussion about Jesus (Colossians 4: 3-6)
At PBC we have a variety of small groups that meet generally based on life stage. These groups generally meet in people’s homes and on various days of the week. Talk with Pastor Josh, call the church office (708) 448-2223, or email the church firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in getting involved.
We would love to have you be a part of our community!
